SCC come back to take the three points!!

A game we knew would be a difficult one after the way Hibs have been attaining results this season and proving that they are a worthy Cosmoleague team. The SCC dominated preceding s and kept the ball fairly well, created chances and dealt with any Hibs attacks but after 15 mins of the game Hibs actually took the lead from an innocent ball over the top that was not dealt with by our keeper and fumbled which seen Bastian (I think) slot in to give a shock lead to the men in yellow. The Hibs were doing well by working very hard, being competitive in tackles and playing some tidy football at times, however, the SCC managed to wrestle the game back by Hutch causing all kinds of problems and should have been awarded a definite penalty which was not awarded but soon after he got his reward by slotting a lovely finish after being put through on the right side. Game on.
Just before half time, we managed to secure another goal by hutch which was created after a defensive error from Hibs, caused by Danny T working hard to close possession down in the opponents’ area and the ball broke nicely for hutch was struck a wicked first time shot from 15 yds, giving the keeper no chance.
The game was still in the balance and the SCC knew they needed to get the next goal to make sure of the match. The game remained fairly open with SCC probing attack after attack but the Hibs also creating space for themselves to get forward and compete and came fairly close a few times but for some good covering defending by the SCC. Chances came and went for the SCC with headers by Monaghan and Bowden failing to hit the target which should have been goals. So not long after, Hutch showed the lads how to hit the target with an header and finally get his hat-trick to make this game safe and comfortable for the SCC. Changes were made to allow fresh legs come on and add value to the SCC team and a penalty was awarded for a push on Mehdi for Mr Turner to retrieve the ball (never seen him run so fast for it) to make sure he took the penalty and indeed converted to make it 4 – 1. Job done but kudos to Hibs for a good solid game. Well done to all.
My man of the match this week goes to Hutcheon who scored 3 good goals, was a constant threat all afternoon for the Hibs defenders and linked our play very well.
